Tu vas capoter. Promis. Surtout le nouveau stock sur l'album "Slave to the Sword".

Rock on.

This week...
-We played new shit from BLACK STONE CHERRY, VANDENBERG'S MOONKINGS, DEUS OTIOSUS, KAYSER, INSOMNIUM, GAMMA RAY, MARTY FRIEDMAN, NERVOSA, KILL RITUAL, CHEVELLE, HIRAX, ACHERON, DESTRAGE, and more;
-I unveiled my February 2014 top 10;
-We checked out Ernie Ball's in the studio featurette giving us a peek into Slash's recording sessions for his upcoming album;
-I pondered on the KISS non-reunion at the HoF and the fact that Gene and Paul STILL pretend that they didn't straight up refuse to perform with Ace and Peter, and mock their idea to simply not play at all in the end, which was fully expected;
-DEUS OTIOSUS drop in to talk about their new and upcoming album "Rise", their love for the new GRAND MAGUS and WATAIN, the dire state of the industry today and the need for serious dedication to keep on working on elaborate songwriting for little revenue- we also get an exclusive on-air performance tidbit!;
-We check out audio of one Joey Belladona finally opening up about tensions in ANTHRAX and how he feels like the oddball outcast in this band, and on that occasion, I input on my views of Ian's sometimes less than politically correct speeches about past bandmates, especially Dan Nelson;
-I talk about Matt Sorum's less than logical desire to work on a GNR biopic and Slash's wise refusal to partake in this madness;
-I voice my confusion over Rudy Sarzo's statement about Geoff Tate in a NAMM interview;
-We check out Bruce Dickinson's newest, world-changing business investment.

1. BLACK STONE CHERRY: Me and Mary Jane

This week...
-We played new shit from DARK FOREST, BIRTH OF JOY, HELSTAR, MASSACRE, MOUNT SALEM, PORTRAIT, NOCTURNAL BREED, PLANET RAIN, ARMAGEDDON REV. 16:16, MISERY INDEX, WAMI, PROFANE OMEN, SKINNER, HIRAX, KXM, OGRE, HOUR OF PENANCE, and more;
-I ridiculed the newly ongoing trend of rockstars investing astronomical sums of money into financing sports events and pimping them up in astoundingly useless ways, namely by bashing METALLICA's "Giants" connection, and Gene and Paul's new AMC "L.A. KISS" reality show;
-We take a look at Gene Simmons' early morning radio appearances in which he gushes about a lot of non-music-related, wishy washy commercial crap like his appearance on CSI last week, and L.A. KISS;
-I gush over the excellency of a new retro psychedelic rock sensation that I would call the 2014 version of THE DOORS - BIRTH OF JOY, and their new album "Prisoner";
-We discuss the new BBC4 documentary "Born to Be Wild" which chronicles the political climate of the USA from the 60s to the 80s and the influence social factors have had on the rock and roll scene and evolution;
-I read Neil McCormick's article about "Born to be Wild" (Neil has been made famous in the movie "Killing Bono" and is now a very opinionated journalist for The Telegraph);
-I talk about the importance of recognizing the roots of rock and metal;
-I review MOUNT SALEM's newest, positively horrifying (in a clever and kickass way, see my 9/10) release, and NOCTURNAL BREED's "Justice For All"-type of impact with "Napalm Nights".

Get diggin'.

This week...
-We played new shit from WINGER, AGGRAVATOR, WOLFMOTHER, FU MANCHU, AMORAL, MIASMAL, BLACKBIRD, EDGUY, and more;
-I provide my not so disastrously sunny review of the latest METALLICA track with possibly the worst title they've ever come up with- "The Lords of Summer";
-I play rehearsal footage in which all we can hear is Lars' horribly overwhelming Pabst King Can snare sound;
-We listen to GAMMA RAY's frontman Kai's input on the harsh context of the band's studio burning down in the middle of the recording of an album- apparently, for the longest time, not a single person in the band had one clue about the state of their recording gear;
-We pay tribute to GWAR's Dave Brockie;
-We check out Bobby Blitz's philosophy about onstage hyperactivity and the way it helped him go up against stage fright in the early days of OVERKILL's career;
-We listen to Michael Akerfeldt's "apology to the metal community" (a couple years back, much ado was being made over his somewhat tongue-in-cheek anti-metal statements, and he's now softening up his take on those sensationalist shitcan headlines that did the rounds for far too long all over the media);
-I look into new HELLYEAH material and thoroughly explain exactly why they'd strongly benefit from sticking to their very PANTERA-defined background;
-I slam Gene Simmons for being the "smallest dog that barks the loudest" in the latest KISS interview in Rolling Stone Magazine;
-We check out Corey Taylor's take on the KISS/HoF drama and his positively stunning cover of DIO's "Rainbow in the Dark".
